If you're like the rest of us, you wonder what it would be like to own a historic house … or just to walk inside. Well, now you can! In fact, the Georgetown House Tour has been giving you the chance to tour the historic homes in Washington D.C.'s Northwest quadrant for over 90 years.It is one of America's oldest and most prestigious house tours, attracting thousands of people to view the tour's annual showcase homes.

 

If just trudging through opulent homes isn't enough for you, you can take part in the traditional Parish Tea in Blake Hall of St. John's Church located at 3240 O Street, N.W. In long-standing tradition, this lovely tea features homemade tea sandwiches and sweets. You may walk in at any time between 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to delight in what the parish volunteers are serving!

There is a lot of walking with steps and/or uneven surfaces. Wear suitable shoes.

Arrive the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C.

For over 85 years, St. John's Episcopal Church has organized and hosted the Georgetown House Tour to raise funds for their ministry and outreach. Since the first tour in 1931, the Georgetown House Tour features a number of Georgetown's most beautiful homes. Houses are within easy walking distance and can be visited at your own pace and in your preferred order. The tour includes a House Tour Magazine full of useful information that serves as your admission to each home, and includes a map of the houses along with historic information and background on each house.

Included is a Parish Tea in Blake Hall at the Church. The Tea tradition features homemade tea sandwiches and sweets. You may walk in at any time between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to delight in what the parish volunteers are serving!
Note: The Parish Tea is light refreshments, it is not a meal. Within a few blocks are coffee houses and cafes for a bite to eat.
